In 2010 the club will field five teams in the open age women’s competition run by Hockey Victoria. The teams will play in the following grades: State League 1, Pennant B, Pennant D, Metro 2, Metro 4.
In 2010 the first round will be played on the weekend of April 17 & 18. Round 18 is on 28 & 29 August with a three week finals series to follow for the top teams in each age group.
In the women's State League team there are a number of players in current Australian Hockey League squads but with sfive teams playing in different grades we have a team no matter your level of interest or experience.
Players playing juniors interested in also playing senior hockey are encouraged to attend senior training and to get involved with the pre season practice matches. If you are a junior player but you have not yet started playing seniors and would like to find out more details please contact Colin Riordan on 0412 439 587 |

Women's Competition Details |
|
The winter Competition is organised by Hockey Victoria into three groupings. State League: each club is only allowed one team in this group - the highest ranked team in the club. State League comprises of four divisions with State League 1 being the highest. Most divisions contain 10 teams where every team in a division plays all other teams twice during the year (18 rounds) on a "home and away" basis. Each division has a promotion relegation system where the top two ranked teams are promoted (except League 1) and as a consequence, the bottom two ranked teams are relegated each year. Pennant: each club is only allowed no more than one team in each pennant division. Pennant has four divisions with Pennant A being the highest. Each pennant division contains 10 teams where every team in a division plays all other teams twice during the year (18 rounds) on a "home and away" basis. Each division has a promotion relegation system where the top two ranked teams are promoted (except pennant A) and as a consequence, the bottom two ranked teams are relegated each year. Metro: each club is only allowed no more than one team in each Metro grade. Metro has four divisions with Metro 1 being the highest. Most Metro divisions are organised into two or more grades based on location eg north, containing 10 teams where every team in a grade plays all other teams twice during the year (18 rounds) on a "home and away" basis. Each grade has a promotion relegation system where the top two ranked teams are promoted and as a consequence, the bottom two ranked teams are relegated each year except Metro 4. |
